The Lake Livingston Recreational area is an approximately 90,000 surface acre reservoir on the Trinity River, spreading into three main counties, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity. The Lake is operated by Trinity River Authority (more information and a photo of the dam is here) and city of Houston, stretching 52 miles long and has a timbered shoreline of 450 miles devoted mainly to recreation.

A host of lakeside parks, Wolf Creek Park and Tigerville Park are owned by TRA; camps and marinas offer complete range of services for camping, boating, and fishing, including Lake Livingston State Park and a map of the Park.

Lake records include these FISH - catfish- blue- 78 lbs., flathead- 114 lbs; hybrid striped bass, 12.88 lbs.; largemouth bass, 12.45 lbs.; striped bass, 31.5 lbs.; and white crappie 1.35 lbs.
